Gritt Hofmann was a member of the German National team from 1994-2001. She moved to the US to compete in collegiate gymnastics for the University of Utah from 2002-2005. Interestingly, Gritt grew up in Berlin, Germany during the time of the Berlin Wall and was nine years old when the wall fell. Gritt talks about her background and what it was like growing up as a gymnast in East Berlin.

Gritt was an All-American gymnast at the University of Utah and a member of German National Team from 1994-2001. She represented Germany at 2001 World Championships, and in 3 European Championships ('96, '98, & 2000). She trained with Sport Club Berlin under coaches Wolfgang Riedel and Heidrun Effler.
