Ksenia Afanasyeva of Russia debuts her new vault, a yurchenko 2.5 twist during the 2013 World University Games Event Finals and officially joins the Amanar Club. She also tied for the gold medal on the event.

Ksenia Afanasyeva is a member of the Russian National Team and two-time Olympian in 2008 and 2012.

She is also the defending World Champion on her strongest apparatus, the floor exercise. In Tokyo at the 2011 World Championships, she also finished 7th all-around. She has spent much of 2012 recovering from injury, but should be ready to perform in London for the Russian team.

A veteran in the sport, Afanasyeva made the beam final at the Beijing Olympics, finishing in seventh place. She was a leader for the Russians in 2010 when they claimed the gold medal in the team competition at the World Championships in Rotterdam. Ksenia also finished eighth on floor exercise.

On floor, Afanasyeva tumbles a double layout and two whips to triple twist. She is renowned for her artistic abilities and choreography on the event. She debuted a new floor routine for the 2012 season.
