Three-time defending World All Around Champion Kohei Uchimura's biggest obstacle to gold in London may be himself. With two falls and several mistakes in prelims, Uchimura qualified in 9th. Still, there's little doubt that if he hits, he should win his first Olympic gold. Will he?

Kohei Uchimura is a 2012 Olympian representing Japan and three-time defending World All-Around Champion.

He goes into London as the heavy favorite to again win the all around and is also in contention for medals on floor, pommel horse, parallel bars and high bar. His score of 16.75 on high bar is the highest in the world in 2012, and he boasts the highest D-scores in the world across all six events.

At the 2011 Worlds, Kohei took home four medals, including gold in the all around and on floor exercise, silver with the Japanese team and high bar bronze. He has dominated men's gymnastics throughout the quad, winning all around gold at the 2009, 2010 and 2011 World Championships.

At his first Olympics in 2008, Kohei was second in the all around and also won a silver medal with the Japanese men's team in Beijing. He also competed in the floor exercise final, finishing in fifth.

In Rotterdam 2010, Kohei captured another four medals, winning the all-around, taking second in the team and floor exercise, and winning bronze on parallel bars. In London 2009, he won his first World All-Around Title.

Uchimura is renowned for his blend of clean execution and high-level difficulty, as well as his abilities as a true all-around gymnast.

To overcome defending World and Olympic champion team China, Japan will rely heavily on big scores from Uchimura in London.
