USA Senior National team member CJ Maestas talks about his latest plans: leaving the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs and starting college at the University of Illinois in the fall. He also talks about his recent training and skill upgrades in preparation for the 2011 Visa Championships in St Paul. CJ is the youngest member of the senior national team at just 18 years old. He sat down with gymnastike in his short stint back home at Gold Cup Gymnastics in Albuquerque before taking off for Illinois. CJ may be young but he still has a legitimate shot at a spot on the 2012 Olympic Team as a solid all around who also happens to be good on rings and pommel horse. He made a strong statement in February by winning rings and finishing 3rd all around at the Winter Cup Challenge.

Raj Bhavjar did compete a Tsuk double pike in 2003. It was a bit tucked but that is from a judges perspective. From a coaches perspective that was a pretty awesome vault. Respect of CJ though for going after this very difficult vault. Good luck to you at Illinois. Here is the video of Raj's vault.

Illinois will be very very good next season. Ruggeri has been granted a 5th year. With him, CJ, and Mizoguchi they could contend for the ncaa title
