After failing to make the national team at the February 2012 Winter Cup Challenge, Alex Buscaglia bounced back at the 2012 Visa Championships to be selected for the 2012 USA Olympic Trials. Buscaglia placed 9th all around after putting together a much better performance on night two to secure his place on the National team, scoring nearly two points higher in the all around than night one. He put up a massive 16.20 on vault and 15.80 on high bar.
