On November 14, 2012, McKayla Maroney signed autographs at an AT&T store in Washington, DC. Mac, father of 11-year-old Level 7 gymnast, Katherine, arrived to get McKayla's autograph, while Katherine was at home sick. Much to Katherine's surprise, within seconds, McKayla Maroney was on the phone with the young gymnast, providing tips on her Yurchenko vault and inspiring Katherine to "always follow your dreams." I am literally speechless. This girl never ceases to amaze me. I hate to admit it, but when I initially saw her compete I wrote her off to be a snob/brat. Not sure why, but I just did not like her. Well, she continues to prove that you simply cannot judge so quickly. She seems so genuine and real. She has such a great personality and knows how to carry herself. I guess all I can say is... I am impressed :)
