Mark is considered one of the finest technicians in women’s collegiate gymnastics and is the Head Coach of the Arkansas Gym'Backs. In 2001, Mark and wife Rene accepted the challenge of coming Fayetville and starting up a gymnastics program for the University of Arkansas. Remarkably, they were able to field a team that made it to the NCAA Championships just 4 years later.



Before Arkansas, Cook coached at both UCLA and Stanford. In Cooks three years at UCLA, the Bruins won two Pac-10 titles, three NCAA Regional Championships and the 1997 NCAA Championship. Then during In his four seasons at Stanford, he led the Cardinal to two Pac-10 titles, four NCAA Regional appearances and coached the program’s first individual national champion. Before moving into the collegiate coaching ranks, Cook was considered one of the top club coaches in the country. He served as the head coach for Clovis (Calif.) Academy of Gymnastics from 1980 to 1994.
