Something is wrong with the program for this board, Anne. I periodically have posts disappear.

What are the lumbar exercises you're refering to?. I'm not a native english speaker and I get a bit confused with all the specific terminology.

Can anyone identify the brunette lass in the blue tank top?

Looks like Grit Hoffman, fomer Ute who is living in Salt Lake City, I imagine she is just working out with the gals for personal benefit. That and I am sure the Ute coaches like having her around as role model.

I'm impressed. This guy actually knows how to train athletes. The only thing in there that I'm not so crazy about is all of the lumbar flexion ab exercise work. Dr. Stu McGill, one of the foremost back researchers, is very adamant about not doing lumbar flexion exercises due to the shear and compressive forces placed on those vertebrae. He advises more stabilization exercises, like the planks and glute bridges shown near the end. The only thing is that the girls were cheating those planks by being too hollow as that allows the shoulders/upper back to support as opposed to the core.

Also, I'm not quite sure why he was doing both pull-ups and lat pull-downs. While they look similar, they are certainly different. However, I think it would've been more beneficial to do something like an inverted row or face pulls, personally. I do like the scapular stability work that he was doing near the end - Y's, W's, etc.
Overall, this guy is one of the better strength coaches that I've seen for college gymnastics.

Utah Strength And Conditioning

Strength and conditioning workout with the #2 Utah Utes, led by strength coach Jon Webster. This was filmed on March 7, the morning after Utah's home meet against Arizona State. The Utah team typically conditions twice a week during season, with one of the workouts being mid-morning on Saturdays so they can take the remainder of the weekend off.
