+ See More - See Less - Fred Turoff is the Head Coach of the Temple University men's program where he is entering his 34th season. This past August, Coach Turoff was inducted into the USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame as a coach. Turoff competed for Temple University Gymnastics from 1966-69 and was the EIGL all-around and high bar champion in 1968. He earned the ECAC Scholar-Athlete Award in his senior season and graduated cum laude with a physics degree. After college, he represented the United States at the 1969 Cup of the Americas, the 1969 Maccabiah Games, the 1970 World University Games and the 1970 World Championships.
Surviving A Drop Year after year, collegiate gymnastics teams around the country are at risk of being dropped by their universities. Back in 1994, the gymnastics program at Temple University was on the verge of being dropped. Temple Head Coach Fred Turoff talks about what they did to ensure they would survive and the gymnastics program could continue at Temple.
