Can you possibly ask Kim in your next interview on what she was planning on competing at the Olympics before her injury?

Sounds like it still bugs her. Life can be like that.

Kim was my favorite gymnast for a lot of reasons, one of which is that I am only two days older than she is. She was my age and doing what I always wanted to do, but didn't have the talent for. Her routines were frequently flawless and she could always be counted on to perform for the team and for herself.

Her Olympic experience may have been a difficult one for her, but she recovered from that fall and went forward. An inspiration to be sure - it's great that she's coaching now. She definitely has the talent for both performing and coaching. Her students are lucky.

she will always be my one and true gymnastics idol. She continues to inspire me all of these years later. What a great gymnast and person.

She seems so down to earth! I love what she said about living both the highs and the lows, and how gymnastics is about the experience and not the medals. I bet she's a great coach!

The experience of living is exactly what Kim is teaching. She has great coaching skills and it is a pleasure to hear her share this. Anne you are doing a super job getting gymnastike out for the world to experience. Thanks to you too!

Kim Zmeskal on What the Olympics are all About

June 13, 2009
So, today is Thanksgiving so I wanted to put up a relevant interview. This is the most Thanksgiving-ish interview I've got at the moment.

Coming off her 1991 World Championship title, Kim didn't have the Olympic experience that she had hoped for at the time, but she realizes now that a lot of positives came out of that experience. She just seems very thankful for the whole experience in that she learned a lot from it, and it she says that it even helps her today in her coaching. But even beyond that, I am thankful for Kim in that watching her on TV at a very young age inspired me to become a gymnast myself. So, I am personally thankful for Kim in that aspect. Anyway, I hope everyone enjoys this interview as much as I did, and Happy Thanksgiving to all! :)
